Okay it hardly felt like I-con at all :/ Not counting the fact that it wasn't at SB. Its mostly because me and James didn't do anything but volunteer. We didn't really have time to go to any of the panels..we had to look at cars Saturday so that did eat up some of our time. But it was also picking people up and dropping them off. Brian wasn't really much out of the way, but Vinny was..he lives in Coram x_x but yeah..Friday as soon as we got there we had to volunteer, I mean why not? There's hardly anything to do anyway. It was an easy job, just making sure only people with white papers or badges enter the registration tent. James was getting tired so we couldn't stay out too late, plus we had to take Vinny home.. I felt bad, but I wanted to hang out with Ant, Jon, Louis and Andy. But anyway thats all we did Friday.
Saturday we didn't get there until 4pm. Me and James looked around in the dealers..I kept getting bombarded with calls and texts which annoyed me after a while. I even changed my ringtone because I got sick of hearing it so much. Its funny how all of this stops when the con is over -_- but yeah..I saw a few things I liked but I didn't buy anything. James bought me my first ever dice for D&D. I got this awesome Zodiac die I'm going to use for a future character of mine ^_^ Sam got me a surprise..she was so cute about it she was like "Okay, I got this for you and I think this is the character..I don't know if its a boy or a girl...but uhhh here..." and I flipped it over and omfg it was a HITOMI KANZAKI PIN FROM ESCAFLOWNE. Holy shit did that make my day! Especially since I would have never found it being I didn't really thoroughly look through all the dealers. So I hung out with Shu for a great part of Saturday. We also had Brian with us, even though he didn't pay admission he still had fun so that was good. I wish atleast Vinny would go and do something instead of just sitting looking bored out of his mind because me and James had to do our hours. I'd suggest Brian too but he doesn't have a badge. I told him to go to How to pick up Chicks..and I said I wish I could go there. And Brian was like "No Jen, I don't need you to go and learn how to pick up chicks and take away the chicks I could pick up" XD or something along the lines. We also went to the Holiday Inn to play games for a few hours or so. That was the only 'panel' or whatever me and James really went to. Other than the Firefly Shindig we had to watch over, basically keep a count of how many people are there..which was pointless considering the woman didn't even know the fire code limit of people is..I know, use common sense but thats just ridiculous.
Sunday was just...ehh stressful. One of the women running the volunteering portion of I-con screwed us over. First off, on Saturday James and I were supposed to go to the Holiday inn, but we went to the Marriott instead. The people there told us to just work at the marriott since we're already here and they need people. Sometime toward the middle of the panel, a woman I remember seeing behind the table for volunteers came over and asked what was going on. We told her, she seemed annoyed at the people who told us to stay and work where we were. She crossed out the thing we had to do on Sunday, saying we did enough for them and didn't have to work anymore. We were happy about that, since Sunday we would have to ourselves. So on Sunday we went to collect the $20, and the people told us we still needed two more hours. The woman who spoke to us Saturday said she didn't say what she told us Saturday night...it was very stressful, and ontop of that James forgot his badge at home so we had to go back and get it. By the time we got back it was 3:00 or so, and we only had time to do our hours and that was it. They had too many people volunteering to the point the job we were doing was pointless. There were already security guards guarding the door to the dealers room and everyone was asking them questions and not us. It was really annoying. Shadow said he helped with dealers, so I might consider doing that next year instead. Just really annoyed that the woman screwed us over of the lat few hours we could have spent at the con. One girl was nice and let James use her badge, but the problem with that was if he did his hours, he couldn't get the $20 back unless he had his original badge. I was ready to say screw it and just enjoy the rest of the con, but I didn't want to get blacklisted incase I wanted to volunteer again. Volunteering was jsut very stressful, Mike explained that it wasn't this stressful in the past. Like, for instance, a lot of volunteer jobs were taken away because Suffolk set up the dealers and also broke down everything on Sunday. So that took a lot of jobs away from the volunteers. A great amount of people also got a volunteer badge but didn't do anything. :/ hopefully this sends a message to I-con, to lower their damn prices.
Also at the con, I saw a few people I didn't want to see >.> namely the bitch who tried stealing James from me when we first started dating. She screeched Sam's nickname like she wanted the whole world to know she was there >_> I didn't realize it was her at first, but when I did I wrapped my arms around James and continued looking at dice with him, ignoring her. part of me wanted to kiss him, and grab his ass as if to say "He's mine, bitch back off" XD. I also saw a ghost this weekend :] Namely Jesse. I saw him quite a few times..more than I would have liked..but not once did I get the urge to want to go over there like I did at NYAF. Quite a few times our eyes would meet, and he would look away. I smiled, more so a forced smile more than anything to be polite and know the door's always opened..but whatever, its better than looking like you're pissed at everyone for reasons unknown. I also saw Robin, which wasn't bad at all. She came over to say hi to Sam, and she was behind me I guess so she wouldn't make things awkward, but I turned around and was like "Hey Robin whatsup?" and we conversed for a bit, told me about the anime her character was from but I don't remember it anymore XD; It was much more easier just to talk to her than to ignore her, or walk away. I don't have to be her friend again or anything, but that doesn't mean I have to ignore her. Not much luck for Louis though..I heard Louis tried saying hi to Jesse but he flipped him off. I don't know what Jesse's problem is, but he really needs to grow up..lol and he's older than Louis and I..the irony. He talked to Fred though, so I guess he's just mad at Louis and me just as Brian said to me..he didn't go into details though, I really wish he would because this is all ridiculous. Whatever, he's dead. Jesse's dead and I'll be seeing a ghost every time I go to a con.
